Not available online

Extra Extra is a multidisciplinary platform exploring eroticism and culture. We are delighted to share stories we first listened to in the metro, at office parties, in hotel rooms and in the park at the heart of our neighbourhood. Our online platform, biannual print magazine, temporary projects and live events celebrate mondain and sensual city life. Featuring commissioned essays, new works, short stories and in-depth conversations between creative minds of all disciplines. Extra Extra looks at artistic endeavours with a witty, sophisticated eye presenting and working closely and collaboratively with cultural producers who dare to share the sensual fantasies that can be encountered in their work and personal life. In a quest of an international language of the urban, the platform promotes cultural and social dialogue between artists, producers and a worldwide audience. Lose yourself in the stories of a blazing imaginative city life of Extra Extra – whether fictional or true – these adventures are a true aphrodisiac.Meet Extra Extra nº18 in secluded corners where red wildflowers blossom. Author Ayòbámi Adébáyò, feeling an absence of intimacy during the pandemic, ponders the nature of touching and closeness in distanced times.

Discover the sensual geometric landscapes of Koen Taselaar in ‘Flaccid Intermezzo,’ a special 16-page commission. Encounter a tantalising interview with glitch feminist Legacy Russell by Fatoş Üstek, while Studio Ossidiana explores the sentimental scale of the city with James Taylor-Foster, filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili converses with Caitlin Quinlan, and artist Lindsey Medick speaks on vampiric love and destructive desire with Natasha Hoare. In the Some Thoughts on Cuisine essay, Kitty Drake spoons sugar and the tangy taste of oysters on your tongue, and Justine Gensse lifts a magnifying glass to erotic detective fiction in the Extra Reading feature.
Also in the issue, Quinn Latimer pens letters to firey syllables and gaze upon Pieter Hugo’s luminous portraiture, captured in Cape Town, Beijing and Mexico City.
